DOS Ch-98
These last few weeks had been a little hectic for me because of all the promotions I was doing for . Now that the film is done and dusted, I could actually focus on something I love. Acting. Sure, rehearsals were not exactly acting, but they were an equally important part of the process. If your rehearsals are solid, your performance will come out to be great. They are especially necessary for a small-budget film like . For something like , we had the budget to reshoot if the first performance didn’t…- 1.1 M • Ongoing

The three men sitting in front of me, all wearing confident grins, made it clear that this negotiation wouldn’t be easy.“I think half a million would be the perfect remuneration for you,” David Friendly, the man on the far left, said. He was in his fifties, with a stocky build and a round face.“Absolutely,” Peter Saraf, seated in the middle, agreed. He looked similar to David in terms of age and build. “You know we only have an $8 million budget after accounting for state subsidies. So half a…- 1.1 M • Ongoing

STS Ch-5
As soon as I heard the name of the film, I recognized it. I had seen the original version, and it was…terrible. There’s no other word for it. The plot revolved around two young teenagers stranded on an island, with little to no clothing, skinny-dipping, falling in love, making love, and eventually having a child. The man who wrote the story must have been a pedophile to conceive such a plot. The same could be said for anyone who wanted to make a movie about it. The acting by the two leads was…- 297.0 K • Ongoing

The plan Randal had come up with looked good on the surface. Genius, even. Take two immature teens who were very clearly attracted to each other and use one to get the other to do what you wanted. There was just one thing Randal hadn’t accounted for: my business savviness. Sure, I wasn’t some Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos-level mastermind, but I liked to think I knew enough about the world to see through schemes like that. The little act Randal and I pulled back on the street, him pretending to leave…- 297.0 K • Ongoing

“If markets are supposed to aggregate information, then a lot of what we call market failure looks more like an information failure. The price is wrong because the knowledge behind it is incomplete.” I finished answering the question my economics professor had posed to the class, one that no one else had managed to satisfy him with. I wasn’t entirely sure this was the response he’d been fishing for, but I knew one thing for certain. Everything I’d said was factually correct. “Perfect!”…- 297.0 K • Ongoing

“Unfortunately, I have some bad news for you, Caleb.” He is the perfect actor for this film. Had I not already committed to Leo, I might have even cast Caleb in the lead role. The only problem is that he's way too good. Seeing them together, I can easily imagine him overshadowing Leo, especially in the looks department. Leo doesn't realize it now because he's not looking at it objectively. But the moment he sees both of them together in a replay, I know he'll throw a fit. It's better to go with a…- 31.2 K • Ongoing

A woman I knew intimately. A woman who’d shaken my world to the core, first privately in Greece, then publicly when our scandal surfaced in tabloids around the world. Acacia Zervas. And judging by her expression, she seemed to be equally surprised by my presence here, if not more. “Mr. Deray,” Jennifer spoke up before the silence could get any more awkward. “We’re so pleased to meet you. I’m Jennifer Jason Leigh, and this is my co-star, Noah Hunter.” “The pleasure’s all mine,…- 297.0 K • Ongoing

I was walking from the Immigration zone towards the waiting area, dragging my red suitcase, my eyes taking in every face looking for two particular ones that I wanted to see more than anything else at the moment.“Troy!”I turned my head towards the familiar voice. Standing right there were Steve and Kathy. I picked up my pace as I almost ran towards the couple, balancing the suitcase carefully. As soon as I reached them, Kathy opened her arms for a hug and I literally rammed into her and hugged her for…- 1.1 M • Ongoing

Two days later, I had a new car and my own Alfred—ahem, I mean Roger.Roger Carpenter was ex-military, honorably discharged, and sent by a security agency that provided services for celebrities and other VIPs. He also had experience in navigating crowds and similar situations. He had signed an NDA and was contracted for three years to be my bodyguard/driver.The car I was given for my commute to and from the sets of was a BMW 540i. Initially, I thought it was very expensive (especially when I didn't even…- 1.1 M • Ongoing
