That’s a weird non-sequitur.
Aaaand it’s inaccurate.
Mate. Viserys was forced to sell his mother’s crown, it wasn’t stolen. The psychological impact from being forced to lower yourself to willingly part with the last memento of your mother and having it “simply” stolen is very very different.
I know he was forced to sell, but I needed a quick scene here to show the conditions he grew up in. Getting the crown taken in front of you for non-payment makes this new iteration more understandable for the general audience because it is more dramatic, and something is happening, not sme internal conflict. ‘He was forced to sell’ sounds good on paper, but in the visual medium, it’s difficult to show the actor’s desperation in the first episode itself unless the viewers know the full backstory. Believe me, I planned this whole scene for a while, and initially, he was selling the crown, but it didn’t make sense for the Pilot of a TV show.
thank you for the chapter
