Hooker scene was appropriately placed I felt. And was good to introduce some future threads with Peter and Ash, so I liked it.

About the “faggot” thing. I’m gay myself, and while I hate the word, in 1981, I was 16 and in high school. This absolutely reflects the attitudes of the time and the way people talked. (And considering it was just at the beginning of the AIDS crisis, it only got worse from that point for a good number of years.)

Please don’t tone things down just because one person got uncomfortable. Whitewashing history is never a good thing, and it really helps to ground things in the era and make it feel real, warts and all. Yeah it sucks to be reminded of it, but why deny what was real?

Alright, you changed my mind. Just curious, any other era-appropriate slurs I should include in the story?

Hmm hard to remember. Lez or Lezzie for a woman. Kike for a Jew. Probably others that i have thankfully forgot.

I just don’t think it really adds to the story at all and is slightly uncomfortable reading slurs. Feels like it’s probably better just to miss them there are hundreds of other ways to make it feel more real than to use slurs
